About eSewa
Government services,
simplified
eSewa brings essential government services into one secure platform — so Sri Lanka's public servants can spend less time on paperwork and more time on what matters.
How it works, step by step
Create your account
Register with your email address and select your government profession. Your profile is private by default — nothing is visible to other users until you choose to participate in a service.
Verify your identity
Confirm your mobile number via a one-time SMS code. Then upload a photograph of your National Identity Card (front and back), a selfie holding it, and your official appointment or service letter. A reviewer checks submissions within 2 working days.
Access your services
Once your profile is set up, your personalised dashboard shows all services available to your profession. Live services can be used immediately; upcoming services show an estimated launch timeline.
Use the services
Each service has its own guided workflow — for example, posting a transfer request, applying for leave, or downloading a service certificate. Registration and verification are free, and verified accounts receive a free credit to get started.
Connect with others
Where a service involves another government servant (such as a mutual transfer), the platform handles matching and introduces both parties only after mutual consent. No personal contact details are shared without your agreement.
Complete the process
eSewa helps you find the right person or submit the right form. Formal paperwork and approvals continue through official government channels — we streamline the search, not the bureaucracy.

Trust & safety
Identity verification
Every user who wants to be verified submits their NIC and an appointment letter for manual review. Unverified users can still browse but the badge signals trustworthiness to others.
No unsolicited contact
Profile cards never reveal names or contact details. A direct conversation only opens after both parties have independently opted in.
Reporting & moderation
Any user can report a suspicious profile or interaction. Reported accounts are reviewed by moderators and can be suspended pending investigation.
Data minimisation
We collect only what is necessary for the services you use. Identity documents are stored encrypted and are never shared with third parties.
